At Agile Development Practices next week…
I’ll be attending the Agile Development Practices conference next week in Orlando. I’ll be bringing along my portable lab, temporarily including a Tobii eye tracker.
Usability testing at conferences is a well recognized technique for getting representative users. See this ixda discussion for more context.
I’ve got several different protocols: for agilists who have no experience with the VersionOne product, customers, and even users of competitive products.
I do hope to catch a few sessions and while I’ll miss Jeff Patton’s monday session on story mapping I hope to catch some of his Tuesday session. I’m also looking forward to John de Goes’ Agile Usability Testing on Thursday.
Thursday happens to be World Usability Day and I’ve been trying to come up with an appropriate activity for the Open Space to commemorate the event. Perhaps a demo of non-interruptive usability testing and retrospective review with the eye-tracking video or, alternatively, an excercise in eye-tracking code readability.
