Live Aid Lab: Original Donation UI
VersionOne is sponsoring the Live Aid Development Lab here at Agile Dev Practices with Bob Payne and Agile Philanthropy.
I’ve been pretty busy doing usability testing behind our booth but have spent some time helping improve the usability of the donation form for the amazing group Mano a Mano.
The initial design is shown at right with a serious issue of using an input field for display. This is fixed in the live version. I’m still debating whether a spinner widget (up and down arrows beside a numeric input box) would help the user map from the mental model of donating in dollars to the organizations desire to collect donations in units bound to specific causes.
